About Us

About Us

The society was formed in 1993 to provide an English-language focus for a growing interest in the railways of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden, inspired by a number of articles and letters in Continental Modeller magazine.

Despite many changes in that time, most notably the expansion of online information and e-commerce, we are still the focal point for information on the Scandinavian railway scene; and if we don’t know, we probably know someone who does!

We cater to those with an interest in the full-size prototype or modelling the railways of Scandinavia, as well as those interested in narrow-gauge lines, trams and metro systems.

We’re an informal and friendly society and our members are spread across the UK, as well as abroad, both in Scandinavia and further afield.

Organisation

The society is run by a committee of six people; comprising the Chairman, Secretary, Membership Secretary, Treasurer, Editor, and one other member.

A number of other members act as coordinators for information about their specific areas of interest; one for each country, plus Railway Modelling, and Narrow Gauge Railways across the whole of Scandinavia.
